Father’s Day is here. My dad just turned 87 and he’s battling some health issues. So I’ve been thinking a lot about my dad lately.
My dad has a great work ethic. He served in the Air Force for over 20 years, then he worked for IBM for over 20 years, and after his retirement he still continued to work doing different things and different jobs.
My dad loves his family. He loves my mom. He loves his kids. He wasn’t an absentee father. He took us on family vacations, he went to our sporting events, and our family ate dinner together every night; when he wasn’t working, he was at home with our family.
My dad loves the Lord. He went to church regularly, he prayed, he read his Bible, and he served his church.
Dad has passed on a Godly heritage. He wasn’t perfect but I’ve learned a lot from him; the most important: Love the Lord with all my heart, my soul, and strength.
